ネトウヨの捏造じゃねえの?
The red tape everywhere you didn't even knew existed before you started your company. But that's probably not what you're looking for.

I grew up and live in Japan. I hate the rampant racism and misogyny.

Most people here are ex-pats that moved here from other places, so you probably won’t have much luck getting the answer you want.
I think to answer your question you are going to have to be a bit more specific about who this character is in terms of age, gender, personality, etc. In general most people in Japan like most aspects of Japanese culture, or else it wouldn’t be Japanese culture. Stuff they don’t like is going to be specific to their circumstances. For example if it’s a salary man, maybe he hates the long working hours. If it’s a college-age kid who has been abroad, maybe he finds it too stifling.

Racism and the subsequent denial of said racism. The dichotomy of shouganai/gaman culture vs isshōkenmei/ganbaru culture (the former making the latter appear shallow in comparison). Ambiguity and the lack of decisiveness. Honne and Tatemae.

Work as Ikigai.
I find the idea of turning your work as your reason of living and your coworker as some family members utterly weird. I can't understand the concept, heck I don't want to even understand it.
I remember being in france and having some young shit manager telling me that it was good and that's why in japan they were serious about work here. I watched him like "wtf you talking about? you little fak you don't know shit about that and aren't thinking about the social consequences of it". Which is also a reason I hate theoritical manager with no experiments.
